STUDY CANADA Summer Institute for K-12 Educators
A Capital View of Canada: Nations within a Nation
Westin Hotel - Ottawa, ON (with a daytrip to Montréal, QC)

"This was the best teacher workshop ever - to be immersed in Canadian culture right here in Ottawa. The mixture of in-class lectures to hands-on learning and tours was amazing! It was the epitome of true “engagement” learning. History came alive this week for me." - 7/2011 comment by Mary Snow Thornton (Orangeburg, SC)

“STUDY CANADA” (C/AM 410) is a renowned professional development course that provides teachers with an excellent foundation for teaching about our northern neighbor. Teachers from across the United States participate annually to develop a better understanding of Canada, gain global perspectives of civic issues, and receive numerous resources for curriculum development. Sessions include core topics such as geography, history, government and economics. A series of enrichment activities not available through regular tourism extend classroom learning to make the STUDY CANADA experience memorable.
